April 3, 2009 . In late March, regional coordinator LM Initiative for Central America, had the opportunity to do an internship in Peru, following the invitation of the Water and Sanitation Programme of the WB.
As a result of this internship was learned the strategy, how to operationalize the model work, efforts and successes achieved to get allies in the private sector, forms of measurement and control, among others. It was also made field visits to the city of Ica and Huaral, where they could observe the work done by local coordinator of the ILM, the training sessions that are given to the social partners, participated in coordination meetings to sensitize stakeholders involved and to organize social mobilization.
This exchange has been useful to better understand how to apply the LM model in Central and design a regional strategy adapted to local realities.
